ITINERARY (Some parts of the itinerary may involve bullet train or boat travel)

Day 1  |  Milan - Verona - Venice

Arrive at Milan airport and meet your tour escort, who will accompany you throughout your stay. Travel eastwards towards Venice, stopping in Verona, the city of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. Visit the famous balcony and explore the town, including the Roman Arena. Continue to Venice Mestre and check in at your hotel.

 

Day 2  |  Venice & Lagoon Islands

Take a short train ride to Venice. A local guide will introduce you to the city, including a visit to the Doges’ Palace. In the afternoon, board a private boat to explore the lagoon islands of Burano and Murano, including a visit to a glass factory. Return to Venice Mestre by train.

 

Day 3  |  Padua - Florence

Check out and transfer towards Florence. Stop in Padua to visit the Scrovegni Chapel, renowned for Giotto’s 14th-century frescoes, and the Anatomic Theatre, the oldest in the world dating to the 16th century. Continue to Florence and check in at your hotel.

  

Day 4  |  Florence

A full day dedicated to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. Visit the Academy Gallery to see Donatello’s famous statue, explore the Duomo and Baptistry, and enjoy time at leisure in the afternoon. Return to the hotel.

 

Day 5  |  Pisa - Lucca

Visit Pisa and its iconic Leaning Tower along with the other monuments in the Miracles’ Square. Continue to Lucca, one of Europe’s best-preserved walled towns. Optional guided bike tour around Lucca’s pedestrian-friendly historic center.

 

Day 6  |  Orvieto - Rome

Check out and transfer south to Rome, stopping in Orvieto, an ancient Etruscan town. Visit the Cathedral, the Pozzo di San Patrizio (a 16th-century cylindrical well), and explore the Orvieto Underground, a network of tunnels and chambers dating back over 2,000 years. Continue to Rome and check in.

 

Day 7  |  Rome (Imperial Rome and Baroque Highlights)

Morning guided tour of Imperial Rome, including the Colosseum. In the afternoon, discover Baroque Rome, with its stunning squares and fountains: Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Spanish Steps.

 

Day 8  |  Rome (Christian Heritage)

Today focuses on Christianity. Visit the Sistine Chapel within the Vatican Museums, followed by St. Peter’s Cathedral. In the afternoon, explore the Catacombs, ancient burial sites of early Christians.

 

Day 9  |  Departure

Check out and transfer to Rome airport for your departure.
