ITINERARY (Some parts of the itinerary may involve bullet train or boat travel)

 

Day 1 Milan

Meet and greet at the airport of Milan by the tour escort who will stay with you throughout the entire stay. From the airport, you will reach Milan downtown for a guided tour of city, including a visit to the Duomo, the most important example of the Late Gothic style in Italy. It covers a surface area of over 11,000m² and is full of rich, impressive decorations. Construction began in the 1300s and continued for over six centuries: a fascinating monument where you can understand the development of the city’s art and history.

After the interiors, you will climb by lift on the rooftops for a closer look at the flying buttresses, the 135 spires, the 150 gargoyles, and all the other particular details of Gothic architecture. The Rooftops also offer an amazing view over the city.

Continue to the hotel for the check-in and dinner

 

Day 2 Lake Como

Full-day excursion visiting Lake Como. In the morning, a private coach will take you to Villa Carlotta for a visit to the villa and its magnificent gardens. After the visit you will board the ferry-boat to reach Bellagio. Enjoy some free time in this lakeside village before sailing back to Como. Once in Como, before returning back to the hotel in Milan, you will enter an orientation guided tour in the pedestrian area.

A local guide will be with you during the entire day.

A packed lunch will be given. Dinner at the hotel

 

Day 3 Milan

Today, you will visit Milan following the theme of Leonardo Da Vinci, the genius par excellence. Today you will visit the Science and Technology Museum where you can see many machines invented by Leonardo. Besides, always inside the Museum, you will also visit a real submarine, the Enrico Toti, launched in 1967, it was the first submarine built in Italy after World War II. Its job was to patrol the waters of the Mediterranean and detect Soviet submarines. Remaining part of the day on own to enjoy the city. Dinner

 

Day 4 Turin

Today you will discover a city that has been the first capital of Italy in 1861. It is located in Piedmont, a region famous for the excellent wines, competitor of the Tuscany ones, for the FIAT car industry, for the Egyptian Museum, the second in the world after the one at Cairo, in Egypt, and in fact you visit in Turin will start from that museum to the continue in town where an Egyptologist will conduct a visit on the most significant aspects of Egyptian culture in its historical evolution.

After the visit,  you will be taken to Eataly Lingotto where you will enjoy good food.

In the afternoon, guided tour of the city centre before returning back to Milan

 

Day 5 Gardaland and Sea Life Aquarium - Verona

Check-out. Private transfer eastwards to Verona. On the way stop at Gardaland, an amusement park resort located near Lake Garda, which is one of Europe's largest and most popular theme parks. It offers a wide variety of rides, shows.

The resort also includes the Sea Life Aquarium that the group will visit. It is a marvelous interactive aquarium and through 40 fully-themed pools, students will be transported on an exciting voyage of discovery from the fresh waters of nearby Lake Garda to the deepest seas and oceans.
Thanks to large windows, transparent domes and a breathtaking underwater tunnel, you can have incredibly close encounters with over 5,000 creatures from a hundred different species.

Late in the afternoon, continue to Verona and check-in

 

Day 6 Vicenza and Verona

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Visit Vicenza in the morning, a thriving and cosmopolitan city, with a rich history and culture, and many museums, art galleries, piazzas, villas, churches and elegant Renaissance palazzi. With the Palladian Villas of the Veneto in the surrounding area, and his renowned Teatro Olimpico, the "city of Palladio" has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the afternoon back to Verona for a guided tour including the Arena, a Roman amphitheater.

The morning will be dedicated to visit the Science and Technology Museum where you can admire many machines invented by Leonardo. After the visit, you will leave Milano directed eastwards to Verona. Before the checking-in, you will visit the town with a guide, including the Arena, a Roman amphitheater, where during the summer is a set for the most famous opera season in the world.  

 

Day 7 Mantua

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mantua by private coach the town dates back to the Roman empire and during the Renaissance was ruled by the Gonzaga family who raised the level of culture and refinement in Mantua that became a significant center of Renaissance art and humanism. Here you will visit Palazzo Te, one of the most extraordinary examples of a Mannerist Renaissance Villa, designed and constructed between 1525 and 1535 by Giulio Romano, known as “the abode of the gods.

Back to Verona in the afternoon. Enjoy some free time. Dinner

 

Day 8 Padua

Check-out and drive eastwards to Venice. On the way, a stop is due in Padua for visiting the Scrovegni Chapel, famous for the frescoes painted by Giotto, and the Anatomical Theatre, dating back to 1595, and located at the local University, the most ancient in the world daring back to 1222, where also Galileo Galilei was a lecturer. A guide will be with you to guide the students in the discovery of these interesting “monuments”.

In the afternoon, continue to Venice. After the check-in, you will enter a guided of the city.

 

Day 9 Venice

After breakfast, you will walk in St Mark’s Square where a local guide will be waiting for you for a visit to the Basilica and to the Doges’ Palace, including the Secret Itineraries that cover the rooms and chambers where the delicate work of some of the most important bodies in the Venetian administration was carried out. The tour offers an interesting insight into the civil and political history of the city, its public organizations and administration of justice. The Doges’ Palace is one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice. The palace included government offices, a jail, and the residence of the Doge of Venice, the elected authority of the former Republic of Venice.

Remaining part of the day on your own.

 

Day 10 Venice and the Islands of the Lagoon

This morning you will board a private boat for a tour of two islands of the Lagoon: Murano and Burano. A guide will be with you during the visits, including also a glass factory in Murano where you will have the opportunity to visit a glass factory and learn how the glass is prepared and manufactured.

Once back to Venice, in the afternoon, you will enter a visit to a Venetian mask laboratory to follow a live presentation on the technique of creation and history of masks. With an extra charge there is the possibility to take part to a workshop ehre the participants learn effectively how to decorate Venetian masks. The activity combines a brief but interesting introduction to the history of Venice masks (around 20-25 minutes) with a hands-on practical part in which participants get to decorate a hand-crafted Venetian mask of their choice.

Some time will remain at disposal before having dinner.

 

Day 11 Departure

Check-out and transfer by private boat the coach parking and from here by private coach to the airport of Venice.
