ITINERARY (Some parts of the itinerary may involve bullet train or boat travel.)

Day 1  Venice

At the airport of Venice, meet your tour escort who will stay with you throughout the entire stay in Italy. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in town and, after the check-in, a local guide will take you in an orientation tour of the visit, including the St- Mark’s Basilica.

Some time will be left on your own before being back to the hotel. Dinner 

 

Day 2  Venice

Being the last day, your time will be occupied in three different types of activities.

You will start with a guided tour of the Doges’ Palace, one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice. The palace included government offices, a jail, and the residence of the Doge of Venice, the elected authority of the former Republic of Venice. From St Mark’s Square, you will board a private boat to reach Murano island where you will have the opportunity to visit a glass factory and learn how the glass is prepared and manufactured.

Once back to Venice, you will enter a visit to a Venetian mask laboratory to follow a live presentation on the technique of creation and history of masks. With an extra charge there is the possibility to take part in a workshop where the participants learn effectively how to decorate Venetian masks. The activity combines a brief but interesting introduction to the history of Venice masks (around 20-25 minutes) with a hands-on practical part in which participants get to decorate a hand-crafted Venetian mask of their choice. 

Some time will remain at disposal before having dinner. 

 

Day 3  Bologna - Florence

Check-out and transfer by coach southwards to Florence. On the way stop in Bologna, the chief town of Emilia Romagna, the region famous for the Motor and Food Valleys. Guided tour of Bologna, home of the oldest university in the world whose foundation dates back to the eleventh century. In the afternoon, you will continue the transfer to Florence where a guide will be waiting for you to take you on a guided tour of this Renaissance city. After the visit, reach the hotel and check-in

 

Day 4  Lucca - Pisa

Today it will be the turn to visit Pisa and Lucca. In Pisa, you will the main monuments of the Miracles’ Square while Lucca will be visited biking a tandem in the pedestrian area. Both in Pisa and in Lucca, you will be assisted by local guides Back to the hotel late in the afternoon and dinner

 

Day 5  Siena - San Gimignano

Other day of interesting visits. You will start with Siena in the morning, the town famous for the Palio, the horse race run since the 17th century, to continue in the afternoon with San Gimignano, the Medieval with its towers, the first skyscrapers in the world. Back to the hotel late in the afternoon. Dinner

 

Day 6. Florence - Rome

Check-out and transfer to Florence for a guided tour of the Academy Gallery. Some time will be left at disposal before leaving by midday towards Rome by private coach and when you arrive, before the check-in, you will enter an orientation guided tour of the main monuments of the Capital of Italy. Dinner

 

Day 7 Rome

This morning, you will visit the Capital of Italy following the theme of the Roman Empire including a guided tour of the Colosseum. In the afternoon, it will be the turn of the Baroque, very well represented by the famous square and fountains located in the pedestrian area of the city: Trevi Fountain, Navona Square, Spanish Steps. You will also visit the Pantheon. A guide will be with you all day long.

 

Day 8 Pompeii - Vesuvius volcano

Today the group will travel for few hours down to Naples and more precisely to Pompeii for a guided tour of the excavations. After the visit, it will be the turn to visit the Vesusvius, one of the volcanoes of Italy. Back to Rome late in the afternoon. Dinner

 

Day 9 Rome

Today is the tour of the Vatican, where you will visit the Museums, the Sistine Chapel and the St Peter's Cathedral. The afternoon will be on your own for the last visits and to get prepared for the following morning departure

 

Day 10 Departure

Check-out and transfer to Rome Fiumicino airport
